Kerry's Irish Pippin
Introduced: 1802, Ireland
Kerry Irish Pippin was first recorded in Kilkenny, Ireland in the early 19th century. It’s a small, shiny yellow fruit sometimes striped red in the sun. The Kerry Irish Pippin apple is crisp, tart and crunchy with a spicy flavor and hint of boysenberry.

Redfield
Introduced: 1938, New York
The Redfield apple is not ideal for fresh-eating, but great for baking, cider, vinegar and jelly. This tree was developed from a 1938 cross done at the New York Agricultural Experiment Station in Geneva, New York, between Wolf River apples and Niedwetzkyana apples. The Redfield apple has a pink to dark red skin with some russeting, and dark red flesh inside.

Zabargau
Introduced: 1885, Germany
One of the largest of the russets, this apple is bronze patched and streaked over a green background. It’s a dense apple, crunchy and aromatic. The flavor when harvested is intense and sweet-sharp, but mellows in storage, developing a balanced sweetness that has the rich nuttiness we expect from a good russet. It will store well and has found favor with some American cider makers for its aromatic qualities.

Gloria Peach
